Job Description Summary:
PayPal is seeking a dynamic, innovative, and driven Enterprise & Op Risk Manager to join our high-performing UK Risk and Compliance team. The role will manage the 2nd line oversight and advisory on all non-financial risk, financial risk, and broader enterprise risk management matters for PayPal’s business in the UK. Meet our team Reporting to the Risk Lead of PayPal’s business in the UK, you will contribute to the sustainable growth of PayPal’s business in the UK, which offers payment solutions, financial services including credit products to its consumers and merchants in those markets. You will collaborate with regional and global business and functional teams.

Job Description:
Your way to impact

  • Manage the SLOD oversight on all non-financial risk, financial risk, and broader enterprise risk matters for PayPal’s business in the UK.
  • Manage the embedding PayPal’s ERM framework for the business in the UK including the risk appetite, KRI, annual risk assessments etc.
  • Engage with the first line of defence Risk and Compliance teams to ensure that risks are properly identified, assessed, managed, and controlled within the Bank’s Risk Appetite.
  • Provide expertise / input on enterprise-wide risk management in the context of risk frameworks, governance, management and measurement, stress testing, strategy, and regulatory expectations.
  • As the Risk SME collaborate with the PayPal globally, on designing the UK specific framework.
  • Provide the second line advisory and oversight on regulatory compliance to the Safeguarding requirements.
  • Manage prudential risk matters including determination of adequate capital and liquidity requirements and appetite; Lead the stress testing exercises to inform the business risk appetite.
  • In partnership with the Risk Lead and the PPEU/ Global Financial Risk teams, manage the stress testing, and the wind-down planning for the PayPal UK entity.
  • Collaborate with global PayPal stakeholders on the development and coordination of enterprise risk transformation offerings.
  • Manage the delivery of thematic risk reviews and other risk-insight initiatives; Leads the facilitation of risk assessments to support major decision making.
  • Supports the Risk Lead in developing annual objectives for the Risk function, working collaboratively with all members of the risk team.
  • Identify control improvements required for PayPal’s business in the UK to operate within defined impact tolerances when, not if, severe but plausible disruptions occur.
  • Manage the SLOD responsibilities for risk activities such as risk and control self-assessments (RCSA’s), risk reporting, overseeing key risk indicators (KRI’s), risk incident management, and much more.
  • Enable/ Manage/ Lead the regular risk reporting for the Risk Management Committee and sub-committees
  • Supporting the management of key governance processes within the organisation and providing support to Risk Governance committees
  • Provide the SLOD oversight of the PayPal’s Crypto produces and services in the UK.


What Do You Need To Bring-
  • 7+ years in the financial industry or equivalent with proven experience in Risk leadership roles for regulated financial services firms (large banks, payments institutions).
  • Knowledge of FCA requirements particularly Enterprise Risk, Prudential Risk, Credit Risk
  • Ability to leverage a global matrix structure to meet the UK business, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to independently draft and review key documents for internal and external consumption.
